Jesse Puljujärvi moves from Edmonton to Carolina. In return, Edmonton will receive Patrik Puistola’s player rights.
Edmonton Oilers trade Jesse Puljujärvi Carolina Hurricanes in the hockey league NHL. The club confirmed the matter on its Twitter account.
Edmonton booked Puljujärvi in the fourth place in the 2016 booking event. However, Puljujärvi’s career with the Oilers never really took off, even though he sometimes got to play as a superstar Connor McDavid’s with.
Puljujärvi has scored 5+9=14 in 58 games for the Oilers this season. In total, Puljujärvi has scored 51 goals and provided 112 assists in 317 games for the Oilers.
Puljujärvi’s contract this season is worth three million dollars, which has made the deal difficult due to salary caps.
Carolina already has Finnish players Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teräväinen, Jesper Kotkaniemi and Antti Raanta. Carolina is second in the entire NHL standings.
Puljujärvi and Aho are now on the same team again. They formed together Patrik Laine with the highly effective and popular trio at the 2016 World Youth Championships.
Puljujärvi and Aho also played together in Oulu’s Kärpi.
In the other direction, a Finnish forward will move to the Oilers’ ranks Patrik Puistola. Puistola is Carolina’s third-round pick from 2019. He has played in the SM league this season in Mikkelin Jukurei.
