Jesse Puljujärvi finally scored his opening goal of the season in the NHL – Kaapo Kakko was bluntly reset when the team lost again

Jesse Puljujarvi finally scored his opening goal of the season

In the night’s three-game NHL round, the Finnish winner was Edmonton Oilers’ Jesse Puljujärvi. New York Rangers’ sticky early season continued in the local match.

Edmonton Oilers’ Finnish forward in the ice hockey NHL Jesse Puljujärvi opened his goal account of the season by striking to give his team a 1–0 lead against the St. Louis Blues. Edmonton was stronger than the home team in the opening set and dominated the match.

The second set was clearly the Blues’ home team. The team that shot 20 times in the set only managed to score in the last minute. Ryan O’Reilly tied the match with a power play five seconds before the end of the period.

The away team Oilers decided the victory in the third set and finished with the final numbers 3–1 by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and by Zach Hyman with goals. Hyman scored 1+1 in the match.

Sorokin reset the Rangers

The New York Islanders left the rink as the winner when the New York Rangers fell in the local match in New York.

Two of the goals in the Islanders’ 3–0 victory were scored Kyle Palmieri. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Adam Pelech both took two assists.

Kaapo Kako Rangers couldn’t get the puck despite a hard effort Ilya Sorokin behind the back. In the first set, Sorokin spoiled Kako’s individual performance when the Finn sailed through the field to the finish line. The Islanders’ Russian goalkeeper eventually kept a clean sheet with 41 saves.

Rangers Jaroslav Halak made 26 saves. Rangers lost their fourth game in a row.

In the third match of the night, the Anaheim Ducks lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 2–4. Last season’s finalist Lightning decided the match with two goals in the third period.

Brandon Hagel finished the match with the winning goal barely five minutes before the end. Nick Paul nailed the Final Readings to an empty target. Paul finished his first points of the season with 1+1.

For Tampa Bay, who are playing a slow start to the season, the win was only their third in regular time. The team is 12th in the Eastern Conference. Anaheim has yet to take a single overtime win and is, as expected, second to last in the entire series.
