Puljujärvi was involved in the morning ice and there in the second lap. However, he was sidelined when Bryan Rust returned to the lineup after injury.
– We had to take someone out. It was a tough decision because Jesse has played very well, the head coach of the Penguins Mike Sullivan told DK for Pittsburgh Sports.
Puljujärvi was in a good mood in the training games and Sullivan praised the Finnish striker then. He was involved in the first two games of the series and had one assist.
Toronto defeated Pittsburgh 4–2.
