Jesper Bratt’s show last night – four points against the Wild and third place in the points league

With a goal and three assists, Jesper Bratt was behind almost everything as his New Jersey beat Minnesota 5-3.

Bratt is now third in the scoring league in the NHL.

Jesper Bratt, right, is congratulated by teammate Tyler Toffoli after scoring against Minnesota.

New Jersey has won five of its last six games and is second in the Metropolitan Division after nine games.

Jesper Bratt is now third in the NHL’s scoring (18 points). Ahead of him is only teammate Jack Hughes (20 points) and Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson (19 points).

New Jersey took control early and led 2–0 after the first period. When the away team’s in-form Timo Meier then scored goal number three via an assist from Jesper Bratt in the second period, many probably thought the game was over.

But it wasn’t really that simple.

Minnesota worked their way into the game and scored a first puck just under ten minutes into the middle period and a second at the start of the third period. But with five minutes left, Jesper Bratt made it four for his team. He also played in Dougie Hamilton for New Jersey’s fifth goal.
