Jesper Blomqvist has represented some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Now the Swedish legend gets to name the three best teammates from his career.
And it really is an absolutely incredible super trio that Blomqvist brings out.
He grew up in small Tavelsjö, outside Umeå, and would get to see the world with some of Europe’s biggest football clubs. A young Jesper Blomqvist got his big breakthrough at IFK Göteborg before bigger club addresses soon called him.
Blomqvist’s career
At “Blåvitt” there were four SM golds and the opportunity to play in the Champions League. Blomqvist impressed so much in Europe that the big club Milan was quickly convinced and signed the Swede.

Meanwhile in Italy, there were games in both Milan and Parma before the dream move became a reality. Manchester United themselves got in touch and the coaching icon Sir Alex Ferguson had caught the eye of the aberrant edge runner.

Best coach
Blomqvist was part of the historic 1998/99 season when United achieved the feat of winning the treble with the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. There were further games in Everton and Charlton before he returned home to Sweden and games in Djurgården, Enköping and Hammarby before his career ended.

Best teammate
Then it becomes even more so when the questions lead to teammates that the Swede has had over the years. Blomqvist quickly answers who was the most underrated teammate he played with.
– David Beckham! I think he was huge, he says in response.
