For a time, the interpreter of Hawkeye in the Avengers films was not satisfied with his role at Marvel. More specifically, Jeremy Renner regretted his role in the first part: “In 90% of the film, my character is not the one I signed up for,” he declared at the microphone of Hero Complex. “There’s not a lot of things that can really help us learn who Clint Barton is, or Hawkeye, whether he works for SHIELD or not.” The actor then said he was “limited”: “I had some cool stunts. But was there a bit of emotion, of reflection? No.” His opinion will change in the following film, when the franchise explores his character further.
