Olympic-ready mountain bike star Jenny Rissveds had a brilliant start to the World Cup season.
The Swede won the premiere in the Olympic Cup (XCO) in Brazilian Mairiporã.
“It felt really good, I competed last weekend on exactly the same track,” says Jenny Rissved to the organizer’s website.
Rissveds was 27 seconds ahead of the runner-up Savilia Blink and 45 seconds before the third Haley Batten, both from the USA, in finish. Batten tried to attack a few times on the last lap, but the Swede kept his composure.
“I still felt really strong and knew I still had some power left in my legs.”

The World Cup continues in Brazil – then in Araxá – next weekend.
Rissveds won Olympic gold in mountain biking in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and already in November received the go-ahead from the Swedish Olympic Committee to compete in the Olympics in Paris this summer.
