Jenny Larsson’s journey from social media to book about CP

Jenny Larsson has taken social media by storm where she shares her role as a mother and life with a CP injury.
Now she is also up to date with the book: “Hey I have CP!”
– It’s great fun and I’ve had a great response, says Jenny Larsson in Efter fem.

It was two years ago that Jenny Larsson’s Instagram account exploded after sharing her everyday life through pictures and short films. She has also received several awards, including “Mama Voice of the Year” by the magazine “Mama” and Expressen ranked her number 30 on the list of “Women of the Year”.

– It’s so funny that others pay attention to what I do and that it shows. I get so many messages that what I do gives hope in some way and that they learn. That’s exactly what I want, she says.

Started with videos of the daughter

She is a trained occupational therapist but is now so big on social media that she can work as an influencer full-time and today she has 113,000 followers on Instagram.

– It was when I started posting videos of my daughter that many people thought it was cute. So I also have her to thank for the fact that it went well, says Jenny and laughs.

Faced with many prejudices – releases book

Now she is up to date with her new book: Hey I have CP! Through it, she wants to change the view many have of people living with CP. On social media, she also spreads knowledge through question sessions.

– People wonder if it’s hereditary and if their children can get it, but that’s not the case. It’s an injury just like if you break your arm, but the damage is in the brain. I think it’s fun to get questions because I want people to learn. There are so many preconceived notions about the diagnosis of CP. Many people don’t know what it is, but everyone has heard it as an expression, she says.

However, she does not take offense to the word “CP” being used as a swear word.

– People can say that if they feel like it. I think people who use it as a powerhouse aren’t really thinking about a person with CP or about me. But it is time to explain the word.
