Maddie inherited a house from her mother, but it has a high property tax burden. So she urgently needs money. In her desperate search for a side income, she comes across a Craigslist ad for the Becker couple. They are looking for a wife for their son Percy to deflower him before he graduates from college.
However, Percy is not privy to the whole thing and is anything but self-confident. Despite this, he falls in love with Maddie, but things quickly turn out differently than his parents had planned…
No Hard Feelings caused a lot of discussion because of its plot. The first trailer already addressed the agreement between Maddie and Percy’s parents. Public and press criticized above all the big age difference between Maddie (30) and Percy (19), who at grooming (approaching minors by adults with intent to abuse). Despite the controversy, No Hard Feelings grossed a solid $83.5 million worldwide (budget: $45 million). The reviews of the film on Rotten Tomatoes also fall 71 percent positive out of. So the film is definitely worth a look, and not just for fans of Jennifer Lawrence.
