Jennifer Lawrence is scared of certain actors and its totally

The comedy No Hard Feelings with Jennifer Lawrence has been in German cinemas since June 22nd. The press tour for her comeback took her to the Hot Ones chicken wing marathon, among other things, where she was questioned about her career in severe agony. Here, of all places, the Oscar winner and former X-Men actress gave an interesting insight into the work on the set. Lawrence revealed that what it’s like to work with a certain type of actor who doesn’t give up their role.

It’s lucky that Jennifer Lawrence isn’t involved in Joker 2

This refers to advocates of the so-called Method Acting. It’s not just about actors who prepare themselves intensively for roles (through research, gaining weight or the like), but also those who always stay in character during the shoot, i.e. never lose their role for the sake of authenticity, even away from the camera. For example, when they put the vegan mini burgers on the plate when catering. When asked about this, Jennifer Lawrence explains:

I would be scared to work with someone who [dem Method Acting] follows, because I had no idea how to talk to them.

Jennifer Lawrence in No Hard Feelings

Your reasoning sounds understandable. Imagine you want to kill boredom with small talk during a break in shooting, but Joaquin “The Joker” Phoenix or Jared “The Joker” Leto is sitting next to you. Lawrence on this:
“Do I have to be there in my role? That would just make me nervous.”

Jennifer Lawrence learned a trick from Christian Bale

Although Lawrence’s American Hustle co-star Christian Bale is often described as a method actor because of his radical diets, he behaves differently on the set than the cast members mentioned above. Why the actress could learn from him:

I noticed that when the camera started rolling […]so it was ten seconds or so before ‘Action’ started getting ready. […] And then I started doing that too.

As is well known, there is no one way to perfect acting, but Jennifer Lawrence seems to be doing well with her personal “method”. The actress has four Oscar nominations, including a win for Silver Linings, and is back busy after a long hiatus. Following No Hard Feelings, her work includes the drama Die, My Love by director Lynne Ramsay (A Beautiful Day) and the biopic Sue by director Paolo Sorrentino (La Grande Bellezza).
