Jenna Ortega is right: Wednesday doesn’t need a love triangle and needs to get darker
Jenna Ortega criticized the shooting conditions of the series. She suffered from time pressure, creative differences between the different directors and the general chaos on the set. But she also shared content: A Twilight-style love triangle, for example, does not fit Wednesday. We also find that the series sells below value with its simple design. Director Tim Burton’s illustrious style is hardly noticeable.
Wednesday Season 2 will start under different circumstances on Netflix. The budget will increase, and so will the attention. Perhaps the most important change: Jenna Ortega will have more influence as an executive producer.
What is Wednesday about?
Morbid, grotesque, horrifying and wonderful: this is the life of the unlikely Addams family. But daughter Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) has to leave her home. After a gruesome incident involving piranhas and the school swim team, she is expelled from high school.
Wednesday is sent to Nevermore Academy, which is attended by young descendants of supernatural beings like vampires, werewolves and sirens. Here she should learn to be able to control her own supernatural powers. At Nevermore Academy, among other things, she must stop a monstrous series of murders that are causing fear and terror in the small town of Jericho.
