Jenna Ortega had fun punching a horror icon in the face

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Last year, the Scream franchise was successfully revived with a fifth film. This assembled a new cast and legacy characters from the past while a new Ghostface killer sharpened his sharp knife. With Scream VI only the next sequel can be seen in the cinema, which establishes New York City as the new haven of horror.

Scream VI stars Jenna Ortega (more popular than ever since Netflix hit Wednesday) and Melissa Barrera (In the Heights) as the Carpenter sisters for the second time. This is already the sixth film for franchise veteran Courteney Cox. And this one comes up with surprising hardness and intense horror action in the Big Apple. The victims may also dish out properly, like the three Ghostface survivors in an interview with Moviepilot reveal.

Moviepilot: In over 26 years, Gale finally gets her first real Ghostface call, complete with an intense car chase. Was that a challenge for you?

Courteney Cox: It was a physical challenge – after all, 26 years have passed. But it was great and so much fun. I was so glad I had the opportunity to speak to Ghostface.

Jenna, you got to do the infamous Gale Weathers punch and punch Courteney Cox in the face in this movie. That must have been pretty intimidating.

Jenna Ortega: No, it was exciting. I was so ready for this. That was probably one of my favorite parts of the script. What an honour. And it was a great day of shooting too. It was fun shooting the scene.

Melissa, your character is involved in some brutal action scenes. What was the biggest challenge for you? what were you afraid of

Melissa Barrera: The shooting of the last sequence took what felt like an eternity. We were really in this cinema for a very long time. In one scene I have to stab someone. I got a real pain in my shoulder. And I was very afraid that I would hurt the person I was stabbing. I think I left a lot of bruises on her body

Jenna: But did you like it?

Melissa: It has.

The stars of Scream VI

And what was your favorite scene from filming Scream VI?

Courteney: Besides my Ghostface scene, I really liked the scene where we all meet for the first time in New York. That was also my first day of shooting. That was fun.

Jenna: A great scene. I liked those too. We also had a scene with the “Fearless Four” in the kitchen. It was one of the few times when everything was normal and we could just say whatever we wanted and crack jokes. That was a really fun day.

Melissa: Yes, that was fun.

The Scream franchise points the finger at all the different rules of how to survive a horror movie. What is the first rule you would probably break in real life?

Melissa: I would break the rule not to go down to the basement. I’m a very curious person. And I pretend to be very brave. So I would go down the stairs or go into the forbidden room or look through the door that is not allowed to go through. i am that person And I would die instantly.

Jenna: I feel like I often talk a lot of nonsense. My mouth and way of speaking would get me in trouble because I get annoying really easily. So I would probably be the first to be banned for this.

Thank you for the interview!
