Jeff Goldblum and Peter Dinklage cut during editing

We are a few days away from the release of Thor Love & Thunder which will arrive on July 13 in France, but on the 8th in the United States, and interviews, junkets and other press conferences follow one another all over the world. There is one, however, which turns out to be more crisp than the others, since it provides a rather unexpected scoop, confirming in passing certain rumors that appeared at the start of the year. Indeed, during an interview with the Spanish YouTube channel Prensaescenario who asks him what he thinks of the other actors who have played with him in Thor Love & Thunder, Christian Bale does not hesitate to highlight this casting 5- stars, while specifying that he had scenes with Peter Dinklage, but also Jeff Goldblum, who are unfortunately not in the final cut of the film.

It’s dynamite ! What a talented cast! With Chris Taika has really developed a very, very good cast. With Chris being just a great guy and it’s kind of humiliating to be around him all the time. He was so warm and caring, he’s a really good good good guy and a great actor. And Nathalie Portman, and Tessa Thompson who were also fantastic and Taika really put together a great cast, really. And then all the others that I haven’t mentioned too. I was able to work with Peter Dinklage. He is unfortunately not in the final cut but I was able to work with him, he is fantastic. I also got to work with Jeff Goldblum, he’s not in the final cut either, and as you can see there were a lot of cuts, even though it’s a brilliant cast.

After these revelations, Christian Bale stops, leaving a slight blank, as if wondering if he had not gone too far in the explanations. It’s hard to say if the removal of the characters from Eitri the Giant Dwarf and the Grandmaster was decided by Disney or Taika Waititi in person, especially since we know that the New Zealand director had already removed strong scenes in Ragnarok, such as Valkyrie’s sexual orientation. It remains to be seen whether these cut pieces will be offered as a bonus in the Blu-ray or on Disney +, but it would be rather welcome to see these two great actors appear at least in the making of.
