On April 10, the white-tailed eagle was seen in Oudewater. A resident then contacted Avifauna bird park, who said that it is probably a Steller’s sea eagle, which is mainly found in eastern Russia, China and Japan. It seems that the animal comes from the Belgian park LaBiomista. At the end of March, two bald eagles escaped there. After the bird of prey was seen in Oudewater, it also flew over Kockengen. He then left the province, until he was seen again in Achterveld last weekend, and so again today. Lia: “I thought it was long gone. But it’s beautiful here, so it keeps flying around!”
