Jean-Luc Brunel, ex-agent of American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead on the night of Friday February 18 to Saturday February 19, hanged in his cell at the prison of Health, in Paris.
Jean-Luc Brunel was “the Frenchman” of the Epstein affair. Moreover, the death of this former model agent is reminiscent of that of the American billionaire, who was also found dead in his prison cell in the United States in July 2019.
The name of the Frenchman was cited in the sex scandal involving his friend Jeffrey Epstein, charged by American justice for having organized, between 2002 and 2005, a network of young girls whom he allegedly sexually exploited.
The modeling agent is accused of having played the reel for Jeffrey Epstein, dangling a career in modeling to young girls from modest backgrounds.
Stopped in December 2020
The prosecution, which was alerted to the potential existence of French minors among the victims of the billionaire, had opened a preliminary investigation in August 2019. Two months later, a complaint was filed against Jean-Luc Brunel, for sexual harassment.
Jean-Luc Brunel, accused of rape by former top models, had finally been indicted last June for rape of a minor over the age of fifteen. The septuagenarian had been arrested in December 2020 as he was about to take a flight to Senegal.
Following his indictment, he was imprisoned in the prison of Health. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of his death.
