The members of the Constitutional Council took an oath before electing this figure of power at the head of the body recently recreated within the framework of the new Constitution. Four days after their appointment, the members of the new Constitutional Council (5 non-magistrates out of 9 members in total) chose their office, and headed Jean-Bernard Padaré. The swearing-in and voting took place in Amdjarass, in the northeast of the country, where the transitional president is staying.
