In the program, Leno, one of America’s most famous motor enthusiasts, has shown off his huge car collection and interviewed celebrities such as President Biden and Elon Musk.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the closure is due to a major schedule change on the CNBC news channel where the car program is broadcast. Reality series such as “Shark tank” and “Undercover boss” as well as financial documentaries will be given more space.
Jay Leno started at NBC in 1992 when he took over “The Tonight Show” from Johnny Carson. In 2014, he passed the talk show on to Jimmy Fallon and the following year “Jay Leno’s Garage” ran, first as a web series on NBC.com and then on CNBC.
The series aired its seventh and final season last fall.
72-year-old Jay Leno suffered third-degree burns in an accident in his garage last November. Gasoline that splattered on his face and hands caught fire while he was tinkering with a 105-year-old car.
