In the finale of Sons of Anarchy Season 7, Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is headed for his inevitable doom. At the latest after the death of his great love Tara, he fell into an abyss of murder and frenzy from which it no way out gave.
As a result, Sons of Anarchy ended with Jax committing suicide so that at least his sons could have a better future. A detail in the final season is supposed to do that However, sacrifices made by Jax were entirely in vain have been.

Sons of Anarchy series creator Kurt Sutter conceived the story of Jax as a Shakespearean tragedy from the start. For him, the suicide of the main character was only the logical consequence. Whether the scene with Gemma and Abel was a nasty additional detail and This makes Jax’s suicide unnecessary is made is just a theory. There is no official statement on this.
