The Mikkeli family has a place for big cakes and coffees. Among the daughters, Jasmin Kähärä won the under-23 World Championship gold and Jessica set her indoor record in Stockholm. Jesse won silver at the Youth Olympic Festival.
Oiva Kähärän and by Catarina Svenlin the weekend on the couch at home culminated on Sunday evening with Jasmin’s incredible skiing in the sprint finals of the under-23 World Championships. In the end, the World Championship gold came away with a clear margin.

– It had been hoped for and expected and finally it came. In the past, there had been small failures and bad luck.
The mother thinks that her daughter had learned from previous starts and avoided crashing and pushing by pushing to the top right from the start. There was still enough to excite the home team.
– I didn’t dare look at the invoices at all, because those damages often happen. I guess Oiva didn’t even look. Only after the last descent on the back straight did you dare to hope that gold would come, says Svenlin.

Jessica’s daughter opened the indoor track and field season in Stockholm by running 60 meters in a record time of 8:36. In length, a promising 613 was born.
We have to wait a long time for the medal ceremony at home, because both Jasmin and Jesse live in Vuokatti.
– The party goes well into the spring, but in Vuokatti I myself will go to Jesse’s old dances in a couple of weeks.
