He is one of the really great giants of the hockey world.
Jaromir Jagr is also still playing hockey at 51 years old.
Now comes two perfectly clever words from him that make NHL fans laugh out loud.
Already in 1988 began Jaromir Jagr play senior hockey in Czech Kladno. It would be the start of an absolutely incomparable career that lasted for five different decades and is still ongoing, maddeningly enough.
Jagr’s career
After two years in the Czech league, Jagr made the leap to North America and the professional dream of the NHL in 1990. There would be a total of 24 seasons in the world’s best hockey league and an incredible 1,921 points in 1,733 games.

The amazing numbers mean that the Czech icon is second on the list of all-time leading scorers in the NHL, number one on the list is of course the impossible Wayne Gretzky. An absolutely incredible feat by Jagr who actually played for as many as eight different NHL teams during his era in North America.

Still playing today
In the 2017/18 season, he left the NHL for good and returned to the parent club Kladno in the Czech Republic. Many thought then that he had done his bit in the hockey world, but at 51 years old he still plays for Kladno and this season has delivered 14 points in 26 games.
There have been a lot of rumors circulating that this year’s season may actually have been Jaromir Jagr’s absolute last ever, but no official word has yet come. Instead, the Czech shot down new rumors when he recently met old supporters from the USA, see the video below.

Clever answer
Jagr stopped and took time to take photos with fans. Then a wonderful chat was exchanged with them.
“We miss you in Philadelphia,” one of them said.
“Welcome back to Pittsburgh. When are you going to come here and play again?”, said another.

Then Jaromir Jagr offered two completely clever words to answer the fans, see the video below.
“Next year…”, the Czech answered coldly.
The 51-year-old has posted the video on Instagram and has a lot of people both laughing out loud but also yearning for a sensational comeback to the NHL.
“You post quite a lot of NHL stuff. You’re starting to raise my hopes, Jagr,” writes one user.
“Please let this happen, guaranteed 65 points at least,” writes another.
“What a legend! Missing you in Philly,” writes a third.
