(Finance) – Manufacturing activity in Japan is expected to deteriorate. The Preliminary data from the manufacturing PMI for Aprilpublished by Markit and processed by Jibun Bank, indicates a value of 53.4 points, down from 54.1 points in March.

However, the indicator remains above the critical threshold of 50 points, which acts as a watershed between contraction and growth.

There Flash estimate of the services PMI simultaneously confirms an improvement in the tertiary sectorwith the relative index rising to 50.5 points from 49.4.
