Japan, manufacturing activity contracted in January

Japan production prices beyond expectations in December

(Finance) – Manufacturing activity in Japan remains weak in January.

The PMI manufacturing index data, published by Markit and processed by Jibun Bankindicates a value of 47.7 points, against 48.9 points in December and compared to 47.4 expected by analysts.

The indicator therefore remains below the critical threshold of 50 points, indicating a contraction in activity.
