(Finance) – Inflation slows in Japan in August. According to the National Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) recorded an increase of 3.2% year-on-year, after +3.3% in August.
The figure on a monthly basis (not seasonally adjusted) shows an increase of 0.5% compared to the previous month after the +0.1% recorded in June.
The core data, which excludes the food and energy component, stands at 3.1% on a trend level, in line with the previous month, but above the consensus (3%).
