(Finance) – The balance of payments of the Japan closes in surplus in the month of September 2023. According to the Japanese Ministry of Finance (MOF), a current account surplus of 2,723.6 billion yen was generated, an increase compared to the assets of 2,142.0 billion in the previous month and the 760.0 billion of the same month month of 2022. Analysts’ estimates were for a surplus rising to 3,000 billion yen.
There trade balance of goods and services closes with a surplus of 53.4 billion yen, compared to the deficit of 1,109.1 billion in August and compared to the deficit of 2,141.7 billion the year before, against an increase in exports to 9,060.1 billion yen (+2.6% on an annual basis) and a decline in imports to 8,718.9 billion (-18.1% y/y).
