Japan, household spending down in January

Japan service sector prices rise in January

(Finance) – In January, monthly household consumption in Japan fell by 1.2% in real terms after -0.1% in December, while it fell by 0.7% in nominal terms.

The data communicatedNational Statistical Office Japanese is however better than analysts expected who had estimated a 3% decline.

Also in January, the monthly average income of working familiesstood at 287,801 yen with a nominal trend increase of 7.5% and a real increase of 5.9%.
