Japan Februarys leading indicator rises to 977 points

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Japan’s economic conditions improve in February 2023. According to the preliminary estimate of the Cabinet Office, the leading indicators (superindex) would have reached 97.7 points, an increase of 1.1% compared to 96.6 points in January. The reading is higher than market expectations, equal to 97.5 points.

In the same period, thecoincident index which summarizes the current situation of the economy, is indicated as growing by 2.9% to 99.2 points.

L’deferred indexwhich instead captures the outlook for the next 12 months (lagging index), is seen down to 99.2 points from 100.6.
