In Japan, around 50,000 people were ordered to evacuate four cities as meteorologists predicted heavy rain would lead to flooding.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a “highest level emergency” warning of heavy rain for some areas.
According to the BBC, predictions that the floods expected in four cities in the middle of the country will seriously affect human life have pushed decision-makers to take precautions.
EVACUATION ORDER ISSUED!
It was decided to evacuate about 18,000 people in the city of Vacima on the Noto Peninsula, where meteorologists expect major floods, and 12,000 people in Suzu.
Additionally, an evacuation order was issued for 16,000 people living in the northern prefectures of Niigata and Yamagata in Ishikawa.
It was reported that 12 rivers in the country overflowed due to the rains. Images showing that some streets were completely under water were reflected in the media.
Japanese authorities announced that one person died and seven people were missing due to floods in Ishikawa.
