Japan consumer confidence slightly improving in June

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Japanese consumer sentiment improves slightly in June 2023. According to the Japanese Cabinet Office’s Economic and Social Research Institute, the confidence index stood at 36.2 points, from the 36th of April. The data is in line with analysts’ expectationswho had expected a small increase in sentiment to 36.2 points.

The index still remains below the threshold of 50 points, highlighting the persistence of a negative climate among the families of the Rising Sun.

Expectations on the index contributed to the performance of the index employment situation (+0.3 points) and the intentions to spend on durable goods (+0.4 points), while those on remain unchanged incomes.
