According to Japan Broadcasting Corporation, a Japan Airlines plane caught fire after the passenger plane collided with a Coast Guard plane while landing at Haneda Airport.
According to the airline’s representative, there were 367 passengers and 12 crew members on board the plane at the time of the accident.
All passengers and crew members of the airliner were successfully evacuated, Reuters reports.
The Coast Guard announced immediately after news of the accident that its plane may have collided with a passenger plane at Haneda Airport.
According to the Coast Guard, there were six people on board the plane. At least one person, the plane’s captain, managed to evacuate. There is currently no information on the fate of the others on the plane.
According to the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard plane that crashed into Japan Airlines was on its way to Niigata Airport. The plane’s crew was supposed to deliver aid to the victims of the earthquake that happened on New Year’s Day.
