Janne Andersson was a guest in the SVT studio on Monday.
The former national team captain was then pressed for an answer.
And then came with an unexpected and sly message about the future.
It has been almost eight months Jan Andersson left the job as national team captain for Sweden. It was seven years as the main manager of the Swedish men’s national team, but after it became clear that Blågult missed the European Championships in 2024, he had to go.

Since then, Andersson has not taken on any new coaching assignments. But there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the 61-year-old’s future.

On Monday, Janne was invited to the SVT studio to act as an expert during the European Football Championship. He was then given the given question of what happens here next.
Janne’s message
Just before the program ended, the presenter turned André Pops to the former national team captain.
– Janne, you will come back to us, Pops said in the broadcast and meant that Andersson will be a guest again.
– Yes, I will when this group is decided, the last evening, in ten days or so, Janne answered.

Pops then pressed Andersson for an answer about the future – and refused to budge.
– Is there any risk that you won’t come back? That some job comes up for you that you’re going to go for, Pops asked.
– The unsworn is the best. We’ll see, answered Janne without going into any further details.
Pop’s Glimmer
– Is something going on? Pops continued.
– Well, nothing concrete. But it’s a bit up in the air. It’s hanging and it’s flapping around a bit so we’ll see what happens, Janne then said cryptically.

Janne Andersson’s unexpected words in the SVT studio obviously raise a lot of question marks about whether a new coaching job is in the works. And André Pops felt satisfied with that answer.
– Then we’ll leave it as a little cliffhanger until the next time you come back, if you come back, Pops finished with a small grin.
