Janne Andersson’s clear message to Viaplay – after the huge fight with Bojan: “I have performed…”

Janne Andersson and Bojan Djordjic smoked together in the latest national team meeting.
Ahead of upcoming matches, the national team captain is clear:

– I have presented why it turned out the way it did to them personally, he says.

Sweden’s latest national team gathering ended with one of the most attention-grabbing TV brawls ever. Sweden had just won against Azerbaijan 5-0 and Janne Andersson was in a great mood when he met Viaplay’s experts right after the match.

Clear message

But a bit into the interview, Bojan Djordjic wanted to know why Janne Andersson didn’t play in-form Jesper Karlsson more – and then Andersson lost his patience. Andersson and Djordjic ended up in an intense exchange of words, which resulted in the national team captain storming off. In retrospect, Andersson has said that he was treated disrespectfully by Viaplay, but at the same time everything must be acted out.

A new national team meeting is soon to come, and the EC qualifying match against Austria on June 20. Andersson believes, however, that there are no hard feelings between him and broadcasting company Viaplay.

– I am a forgiving person in myself and in my leadership. I cleaned it up and had a press conference the next day. Then I talked with Bojan and with Viaplay and presented what I felt and thought and experienced. For me, that’s it. They get to choose their team in the studio and I choose mine, he says according to Aftonbladet.

“Have performed it”

Andersson also believes that he has not made any demands on how Viaplay should set up its studio. He has previously had views on how many experts Viaplay had, but he has not had any views now.

– I have not made any demands whatsoever. They can do exactly what they want. But I have presented why it turned out the way it did to them personally, he says.

At the same time, Viaplay believes that it will not make any changes to its line-up.

– We think that the national team deserves a good framework and therefore invest in over an hour’s preparatory studio, and then several votes are also required. It is with respect for the right and the viewers that we have three experts in the studio, with a great collective football knowledge and with different experiences. However, we field a smaller team around the training match against New Zealand, due to the fact that our studio time is shorter then and there is not as much at stake. We release our lineup closer to the matches, he says.
