After seven and a half years and a total of 94 international matches, Janne Andersson has done his part as Swedish national team captain.
He is clear that he prefers to continue his career in football.
– I don’t know how picky I’ll be, but I won’t jump at the first best thing. But I’ve had the best job in the world, so everything can only get worse, unfortunately, he says about potential future coaching jobs.
Former Swedish national team captains have been known to end up in Iceland (Erik Hamrén, Lars Lagerbäck).
– I am not ruling anything out. I can imagine another confederation captain’s job and I wouldn’t see it as a betrayal of Sweden to go abroad, says Janne Andersson.
