Janne Aho was asked to take part in the combined Finnish Championships – gives a direct assessment of the possibilities of Finland’s new hill comet against Ilkka Herola

Janne Aho was asked to take part in the combined

Janne Ahonen revealed that the combined head coach Petter Kukkonen tried to attract him to Rovaniemi for the combined Finnish Championships. Eetu Nousiainen, who played in the hill race on Sunday, will be in the Finnish Championships.

In January, he reached the Finnish Championship bronze in the hill jump Janne Ahosta has been attracted to competitions combined with the Rovaniemi Finnish Championships. Ahonen revealed the matter over the weekend at ‘s Sports Studio.

– Head coach of the combined national team Petter Kukkonen has been trying to get me involved in these spring championships since the beginning of the season. I may have at some point thoughtfully considered it. However, I have good reasons to withdraw. There is too little hill and too long ski trip. No need to leave, Ahonen said.

Rovaniemi is a race on a normal hill. Ahonen took the Finnish Championship bronze medal in January in the well-known Lahti hill.

– I said years ago that I would no longer jump from a smaller hill than the big hill in Lahti. As long as I dare come down from there, I can come down from there. Then when I can’t do it anymore, I don’t have to come down anywhere else, Ahonen says.

In Rovaniemi, however, interesting names can be seen in the combined Finnish Championships. The athletes of the Finnish ski jumping national team will be seen in the combination of normal hill and 10 km skiing on Saturday, April 2. For example, there were eighth gliders on the Oberstdorf airfield on Sunday Eetu Nousiainen.

Janne Ahonen has a straightforward assessment of the chances of success for mountain men in Rovaniemi Ilkka Herola against.

– There is no way to beat Ilua on the hill section so that the line can run on the track. I think the difference between Ascension and partners in Herola will be about the same as Jarl Magnus with Riiber and Herola at the World Cup. Ascenders and partners are not as level skiers as Riiber. The difference has been caught pretty quickly, Ahonen says.

According to Ahonen, mountaineers know how to ski, but endurance is not comparable to combined athletes.

– Of course, if you are a serious athlete, you will wash these mountaineers, Ahonen says.
