Manse PP has appointed the new manager and head coach of the men’s team Jani Komulainen. Komulainen’s contract for Tampere covers the 2023 season.
Jani Komulainen has become known both as the game director of Sotkamon Jymy and as a player.
– The original idea of a gap year fell apart when a club aiming for top success contacted us a couple of weeks ago. There is a big job ahead for both myself and the team. It’s great to tackle it, says Jani Komulainen in Manse PP’s press release.
Chairman of Manse PP Timo Mäkelä is satisfied, an experienced Komulainen was found in the team on a fast schedule and he won the championship once by a whisker.
– Jani is the best possible person for this position to realize the club’s hard sporting goals. I strongly believe that Jani’s competence as a coach and game director perfectly matches the club’s value of high quality standards in elite sports, says Timo Mäkelä.
As game manager, Jani Komulainen led Sotkamo Jymy to the Finnish champion in the summer of 2020, in addition, there is a silver medal from the summer of 2019 in the trophy cabinet.
In 2020, Komulainen was chosen as the Superpesis game manager of the year.
In his playing career, he has won the Finnish championship 12 times and captured a total of 17 Championship medals with his stick.
Manse PP’s previous game director was chosen only in October of last year, a player legend Toni Kohonen.

At the beginning of the year, however, rumors began to circulate around the club that the views of the team and Kohonen no longer met.
At the end of February, Manse PP published rumors to cut off the announcement that Toni Kohonen’s contract had not been decided by Manse, but that he had been released from the position of game director for the time being. At that time, it was said in the press release that the issues would still be discussed with Kohonen.
