Djurgården and Pafos will meet in the next match in Stockholm on March 13th.
Finnish coach in the Football Conference League Jani Honkavaara Djurgården suffered a tough 0-1 away loss to the Cyprios Paphos.
The Paphos goal was shot by the Swedish Muamer Tankovicin the 65th of the game.
Pafos needs another victory over Djurgården to secure its place in the Conference League quarterfinals. The second leg of the teams will be played on March 13.
– This was the minimum result we came to get here, the Swedish team head coach Honkavaara said at a press conference.
According to Honkavaara, the team must stay more in the ball in the next section, which will be played in Sweden.
– In the first episode, we had the best places to have scored goals. We lost the ball a few times in a bad place, when Pafos got good opportunities. In Stockholm, we have to stay more in the ball.
Djurgården’s Finnish players Adam Ståhl Played the only 90 minutes in the match. Miro Tenho and Rasmus Schüller played both 73 minutes and Santeri Haarala 18 minutes.
Djurgården signed a three -year contract with Honkavaara last December.
