It is noticeable that the text that Böhmermann reads was not written by Gottschalkbut probably came from his own pen. This is further confirmed when Böhmermann’s sentences continue to escalate: “And suddenly Bill Kaulitz comes along and is gay”Böhmermann adds:

In the past, you could still deduct touching women from your taxes. Nowadays you get a hashtag for that.

Fans are conflicted about Böhmermann’s delivery style

There are mixed comments on Böhmermann’s ironic reading under the Instagram post. Many agree with Böhmermann and find Gottschalk’s behavior embarrassing, as this user writes: “How everyone thinks it’s real, but you probably don’t give Gottschalk credit for it.” Another fan writes: “The Gottschalk is so lost”.

Other Instagram users have a different opinion and defend Gottschalk, like this user:

Was never a big Gottschalk fan, but he has achieved more in show business than Böhmermann ever will. You have to have respect for that.

Another user also supports Gottschalk:

Thomas Gottschalk is the greatest German show host of all time, a radio and television legend and really doesn’t deserve all of these bullshits.

Not all commentators seem to have seen through Böhmermann’s satirical game and believe that the lines presented are in Gottschalk’s book.
