The prize was awarded at this year’s Feelgood festival in Mariefred. In the jury’s justification, it is stated that the author takes the reader on a journey through life in the borderland between despair and hope. The novel is described as “clear as a mountain stream and tasty as a waffle made with real cream”.
Around 3,000 readers voted for their favorite book and then this year’s jury named the winner. The jury consisted of journalists Kerstin Särneö and Pekka Heino and book blogger Eva Boström.
Last year, the award went to the author Marcus Jarl for the novel “Your colors were blue”.
The competition is organized by the Feelgood festival, which is organized by the publisher Printz Publishing in collaboration with other players in the book industry.
