Jake Gyllenhaal turns it into an absolute fighting machine

Hardly any film embodies the pathetic, exaggerated zeitgeist of the 80s as wonderfully as Road House with Patrick Swayze. There was always talk of a remake, now it’s actually coming out. There is a brutally trained Jake Gyllenhaal, who presented himself as a fighting machine in the trailer.

This week you can see for yourself what Road House looks like as a modern remake 35 years after the original. The remake will be released soon with an Amazon Prime streaming subscription*.

Action escalation with Jake Gyllenhaal: That’s what the Road House remake is about

In the story of the new edition by director Doug Liman, Gyllenhaal plays the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Eldwood Dalton, whose Career ended prematurely due to a tragic incident. At the beginning of Road House, he accepts owner Frankie’s (Jessica Williams) offer to start working as a bouncer at the titular bar in sunny Florida. But Dalton quickly finds himself caught up in a criminal conflict that goes far beyond typical fights between drunken guests.

As the plot of the action film progresses, Gyllenhaal’s main character also has to deal with a real mixed martial arts heavyweight. Irish fighter Conor McGregor makes his acting debut as crazy henchman Knox in the Road House remake, who becomes Dalton’s most dangerous opponent.
