David E. Kelley, who was previously responsible for successful series such as Big Little Lies and is known for legal series such as Ally McBeal and Boston Legal, serves as screenwriter, showrunner and executive producer for Lack of Evidence. JJ Abrams is also attached to the series as an executive producer.
In addition to Gyllenhaal, Ruth Negga (Preacher), Bill Camp (The Night Of: The Truth of a Night) and Elizabeth Marvel (True Grit) were in front of the camera for the thriller series.
