So far, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has not admitted defeat. But now comes information that he will not oppose the election results in the Brazilian presidential election. That’s what Bolsonaro’s communications minister, Fabio Faria, told the Reuters news agency.
According to Bolsonaro’s communications minister, he will give a speech later on Tuesday evening.
Since it became clear that Lula da Silva will take over power in the country, several thousand supporters of Bolsonaro have blocked highways in protest against the election results.
On Tuesday, however, the Supreme Court of Brazil ordered the police to dissolve the roadblocks and disperse the people, according to Reuters.
Images show police using tear gas and armed forces as they drive away the supporters blocking the highways.
