Jonna Sundling was really dominant in the World Cup in Trondheim.
Now she is praised by SVT’s ski profile Jacob Hård, who says she is probably the best ever in Sweden.
– A distance gold would fortify her position as a complete skier and number one in the ski history, he tells SVT Sport.
She has taken seven World Cup gold, as many as the legend Gunde Svan63. Jonna Sundling30, is really one of the largest ever in Swedish skiing. Maybe even the biggest? The debate has at least been aroused.
Jacob Hård’s tribute to Jonna Sundling
The national team manager Anders Byström Said it already after the World Cup sprint when Jonna Sundling took her first gold in the championship.

There are many who agree with Byström, while others think it is a bit early to compare her to the very biggest. One who, on the other hand, thinks that the national team manager is right on it is SVT’s Jacob Hård.
– This generation of female riders is the best Sweden ever had. Jonna Sundling, yes she is perhaps already number one in Swedish ski history on the women’s side. Definitely the most complete. Explosiveness and speed are by far in the world. But she also has the endurance to be able to win distance races, he tells SVT Sport.
Believe in Olympic gold in distance for Jonna
It is in his own World Cup chronicle that Jacob Hård sums up Jonna Sundling, and the other Swedes’ championships in Norway. He starts by praising World Cup queen Sundling for her incredible, individual performance-even when she competed in teams she was decisive.
– The efforts she made in the relays were spectacular and absolutely crucial. Then she was unlucky to fall, fall away any gold chances in the skiathlon and in the five -mile she got a before that strongly favored the lighter oxygen uptake monsters, he says.

Jacob Hård says that the definitive nail in the coffin in this debate would be if Jonna took an Olympic gold at any longer distance. Then she could undoubtedly be identified to be the best ever in this skiing country.
– A distance gold would consolidate her position as a complete skier and number one in the ski history. Why not already next year at the Olympics?
Thanks for the show, Jonna! You were absolutely incredible at the World Cup and you really showed where the cabinet should stand. The others didn’t even have a chance against you when you set off. We hope to see more of this in the next season and especially in the 2026 Olympics.
