Jacob Hård’s call to Frida Karlsson after the World Cup success

Frida Karlsson has had large parts of the season destroyed due to injuries.
Although she won two World Cup gold and took a bronze, she also receives a small call from SVT commentator Jacob Hård for the next season.

“She has to learn to handle it,” he tells SVT Sport.

Just a week before the World Cup season started, the Swedish skiing team announced that the big star Frida Karlsson25, suffered a foot injury that forced her to find alternative training methods. She simply couldn’t ski for a while – instead she went to the heat and the sun in Tenerife and cycled for two weeks.

Frida Karlsson won historical World Cup gold

Just before the premiere in Finnish Ruka, however, she was shocking enough, back. No one had expected it. In addition, she won the 10-kilometer race by 46 seconds down to second Therese Johaug36. It was a taste of how good Frida would be this season – the few times she actually started.

Until the World Cup in Trondheim, Karlsson had only made five competitions, but at the same time won two of them. In the championship on Norwegian soil, there was first fourth place in the Skiathlonen, then a bronze medal in the 10-kilometer race followed by two straight World Cup golds in the relay and in the five-mile. The last one was a historical triumph because the ladies never run the long distance in a championship before.

Jacob Hård says what he thinks about Frida

Just over a week after the World Cup was settled for the SVT profile Jacob Hård70, the Swedish record ladies’ efforts. He praises among others Jonna Sundling30, and Ebba Andersson27, who both won three gold (Sundling also took a bronze). Of course, he has a lot of good to say about Frida as well.
– Frida Karlsson has one thing in common with Jonna and Ebba. She showed great talent early on and swept home gold medals at the junior World Cup. She was still a junior when she won her first World Cup medals six years ago, he tells SVT Sport.

Although there were gold medals and happy mines for Karlsson at the end of the World Cup, Jacob Hård has found something in her behavior that worries him a little. He sends a small call to her in the future.
– That it was now delayed with the first individual gold is at least partly about overload and injuries. Something she has to learn to deal with. Too few can push themselves like Frida Karlsson. And her highest level … Yes, it’s absolutely huge. She has shown this during competitions this winter, he says.

Big congratulations to you, Frida! What a fantastic world championship in Norwegian Trondheim. You really showed the Norwegians who decides.
