Finnish goals were seen in both games of the NHL night. NY Rangers’ Kaapo Kakko and Buffalo Sabres’ Henri Jokiharju managed to score
New York Rangers’ Finnish forward Kaapo Kako was in great shape when the Rangers claimed a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL.
The runner-up was in the match where it happened and got into good goal positions on several occasions. At the end of the second period, Kakko, 21, knocked the puck into the net in front of the goal. The goal was the world champion striker’s fourth of the season.
The second came close to scoring another goal in the final set of the match. Kings goaltender Cal Petersen however, made a great save and managed to stop Kako’s shot.
– I’ve never seen anything like it. I would imagine Cal Petersen spent more time behind the finish line than in front. Unbelievable, the American commentators of the match were amazed.

Another 2019 world champion also managed to score in the night’s NHL matches. Finnish defender Henri Jokiharju scored his first goal of the season as his Buffalo Sabers ended their eight-game losing streak in style. Buffalo beat the Montreal Canadiens away from home with goals of 7–2.
Jokiharju completed Buffalo’s 5–2 goal Alex Tuchin pass in the final set of the match. He scored his last NHL goal in February.
Buffalo’s Canadian forward scored the second assist in Jokiharju’s goal Jeff Skinner grabbed 2+3 power points in the match.
Jokiharju was recently sidelined for almost a month after getting a puck in his face in October. For Jokiharju, who recovered to playing condition last week, last night’s match was the eighth of the season.
