Swimming star Sarah Sjöström will chase world records immediately after the Olympics in Paris – in her own competition, the Sjöström Invitational.
The Swedish swimming star does exactly like Armand Duplantis and gets her very own competition.
“I have long dreamed of challenging the world record in the 50m butterfly when I am in Olympic form,” says Sarah Sjostrom in a press release.

Sjöström’s gala is arranged in Eriksdalsbadet in Stockholm on August 12 with both Swedish and international participants. In addition, young people born in 2008 – the year Sjöström won his first international championship medal – will be invited to the competition.
Trials, semis and finals at all 50-meter distances in short track will be included in the competition program.

Sjöström’s focus during the Olympics is on the 50-meter freestyle as the only individual distance, as the 50-meter butterfly is not included in the Olympic program.
“First, all the focus is on the Olympics, on the 50 freestyle and the team races. But then I get a few days to recharge for the Sjöström Invitational. I believe and hope it will go quickly both in Paris and then here in Stockholm a few days later,” says Sjöström.
The swimming competitions in the Olympics are decided July 27–August 4.
