Its this weekend that you have to think about it

The passage at summer time is coming! To do things right, don’t forget to think about it this weekend.

The French are now used to it: twice a year, we change time in France as in all countries of the European Union. The mechanism established in the 1970s, in the midst of an energy crisis in order to save electricity, is still in force. This year again, we will have to comply. And the more March the month of March, the more the fateful moment is approaching.

The good news is that this rocking that takes place on our clocks makes sunshine in the evening longer. But the time change is not trivial for the organizations: in more than an hour of sleep less at night of the time change, then you must quickly take a new pace with the new hour! Many experts insist that the transition to summer time disrupts our biological clock.

It is therefore strongly advisable to anticipate to avoid headlines at the summer time. Do not wait until the date of the time change, which takes place on Sunday March 30 and take the lead now. For “chronobiologists”, it is even important that young children, the elderly, or people with sleep disorders adapt long before the time change, by setting up some measures from the weekend that precedes the rocking.

How to do it? From this weekend, anticipate. You can wake up earlier this Sunday and watch throughout the day not to do the usual things later than usual. Take your meals at the usual time, even a little earlier, but not later! Same thing for routines with children: Start putting yourself on the right tracks and avoid repelling the bath, dinner and bedtime time. For the little ones most sensitive to change, it is even fashionable to start reducing screen time, even this Sunday!

Tell yourself this weekend that your sleep is crowned and make your arrangements: avoid planning outings on weekdays and set yourself the goal of getting 7 to 8 hours of quality sleep this weekend and the coming week. And starting on Monday or Tuesday, move forward your bedtime for 10 to 15 minutes each evening, to create a transition, until you reach the time you will go to bed more naturally on the day of time change.

Take a good resolution for every day that follows. In the morning, take out a few minutes, the morning sunlight is an asset to slowly regulate your internal clock. If you can do a little exercise, it’s even better. From Thursday, hold on to this rule: avoid long journeys, painful or stressful tasks. It is crucial in the days preceding the time change. Another advice: on Sunday of the time change, do not hang out in bed too much, and activate to be in good fatigue at bedtime.
