Its the ideal drink in November you wont get sick

Just one ingredient is enough.

The weather is gray, temperatures are slowly dropping and the first viruses of the fall-winter season are arriving. To boost your immune system and escape winter infections (colds, sore throats, stuffy noses, colds, etc.), there is a very simple drink to prepare that you absolutely must know.

And just one ingredient is enough: thyme. It is easily found in the supermarket, in bulk or in sachets in the breakfast drinks section. Thyme is an essential medicinal plant. It has a large number of properties and can treat various conditions: it is anti-infectious, antibacterial, stimulating, antitussive, antiseptic, depurative and anti-inflammatory. “It acts on many ENT and respiratory diseases (bronchitis, flu, editor’s note). It also has expectorant properties, very useful in cases of coughs and colds. Christelle Lassort, naturopath and alternative medicine therapist, explained to us in a previous article.

How to prepare the famous drink? It’s simple: pour a teaspoon of dried thyme leaves into 150 ml of simmering water. Leave to infuse for 10 to 15 minutes and filter before drinking. You can take 3 to 4 cups of thyme infusions per day, added with lemon juice and/or honey in case of respiratory symptoms. You can also use thyme essential oil inhaled when the nose is blocked.

Place 5 to 6 drops of thyme essential oil in a bowl of boiling water. Place your face covered with a towel over the bowl and inhale through your nose then exhale through your mouth for 5 to 10 minutes. Best done in the evening (only for adults). Thyme (especially dehydrated) also has the advantage of being very rich in iron which participates in the formation of red blood cells and in vitamin K which participates in coagulation (to be avoided when taking anticoagulant treatment). We therefore do not hesitate to add it to our cooking dishes.
