it’s over, the devs want to move on

its over the devs want to move on

Launched on October 12, 2021, Back 4 Blood only lasted a big year in terms of longevity. In a message posted on their official websiteTurtle Rock Studios announces the end of the follow-up for its co-op shooter with lots of zombies, the developers wishing to move on to another project, their next new game. Indeed, the studio is unfortunately not large enough to continue supplying Black 4 Blood and working on their new game at the same time. Obviously, the studio thanks the community and specifies that the game will continue to be accessible.

Greetings, cleaners!

What an incredible year 2022 has been for us. First of all, we wanted to thank you all for making Back 4 Blood what it is today. With three expansions – Tunnels of Terror, Children of the Worm, and River of Blood – we’ve journeyed together on a fantastical adventure beyond the walls of Fort Hope. This phase of our war against the Mounted is now coming to an end.

Turtle Rock Studios is actually quite small for a AAA game creation studio. We don’t have enough people to continue working on Back 4 Blood content while we make another game – yes, another game! Given that, it’s time for us to put our heads down, get back into the lab, and get to work on the next big thing.

Intrepid Cleaners is not a goodbye.

Back 4 Blood will continue to work, of course. In fact, Back 4 Blood is currently offered on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers and available as part of Xbox Game Pass. You will also always find us in the SUBREDDIT and on DISCORD, as well as on our official TWITTER, INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK and WEBSITE, because we love to interact with you and talk about our games.

Although we’ll be a bit more low-key over the next few months, we promise we’ll be back, bigger, bolder and better than ever!

Of course, many people are wondering about the nature of their next project. Let’s hope the studio tries something more original than a shooter with infected.
