In the casting, Troll does not bring together faces known to the French public but Norwegian stars. Ine Marie Wilmann, seen in Homesick Or War Sailorplays the lead role opposite Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, from the saga Espen. Billy Campbell of The Killing And Cardinal is also part of it.

With such success, Troll will soon be getting a sequel on Netflix. Variety has confirmed that Roar Uthaug and his team will be back for a second episode, which should see the appearance of a new monster and other creatures. According to Allociné, filming was planned for 2024 for a possible launch during 2025.
