One of them, considered a classic of the genre, was nevertheless born only ten years ago. To celebrate its anniversary, it is exceptionally being re-released in theaters.
Released in 2014, this science fiction film plunges the audience into the near future, where the Earth has become hostile to humans due to sandstorms, making the soil arid and preventing agriculture. A former pilot turned farmer, single father of two children, accepts a mission: to go into space in search of a new planet to colonize in a new star system. But this experience will have a considerable impact on his perception of time and his relationship with his children. As you may have guessed, this film is Interstellar.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, Interstellar is considered the second best science fiction film of all time by viewers on the Internet Movie Database, while Allociné users place it in first position, with a score of 4.5/5. Such success can be explained by the scientific demands of the feature film which explores the theories of glass holes and Einstein’s relativity, but also by dramatic scenes rich in emotion which have marked the public.
The film starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain was critically and popularly acclaimed, but won only one Oscar, for Best Visual Effects in 2015.It would, however, win the Saturn Award and the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Science Fiction Film.
To celebrate 10 years ofInterstellarWarner Bros is exceptionally re-releasing it in theaters in France. It will be available in theaters from September 25 in around 200 theaters, including in IMAX format for those who want (and can) treat themselves to an optimal cinema experience.
