Duplantis was also asked when a journalist asked what it would take for the pole vault star to get a statue of himself outside Stockholm’s stadium. But the 23-year-old was still able to collect his thoughts and give a perfect answer to the unexpected question.
– Didn’t Karsten (Warholm) set a record here? If he doesn’t have a statue, it will probably be quite tough for me, says Armand at the press conference according to SVT Sport and admits that he needs to jump significantly higher to deserve a monument.
– Probably quite as high, at least higher than now. But that would be cool.

Ingebrigtsen also wants to put some pressure on his home country should he break a new world record in the 1,500 meters during the Diamond League competition in Oslo.
– If I set a world record here and run faster than 3.26, I deserve a statue, says the Norwegian cockily.
